Here are some exclusive fast facts from Adrenaline Rush Sports…
- What you eat is a diet and should not be confused with eating low calorie foods ("fad diets"). There’s no magical way to eat and lose weight. Most "fad diets" leave you too hungry or on the border of wanting to jump in a pool of chocolate.
- No matter where the calorie comes from (fat, carbohydrates, protein), a calorie is a calorie that will contribute to your weight.
- It takes 3,500 calories to lose or gain 1 pound.
- When you deprive your body of any main micronutrient (Carbs, Protein, Fats), your body will store it the next time you eat it. Your body will go into panic mode from not getting what it needs.
Much has been made of specialized fad diets. It seems that someone famous will put a group of foods together, put a label on it and the public is sold. Behind the scenes, the two-a-day 2 hour workouts they are doing to get the jaw dropping results are not being broadcasted. There’s no substitute for hard work!!
The total calories calculated on the nutritional facts is comprised of how many calories derived from Carbohydrates, Proteins, and Fats. Carbs provide 4 calories/gram (g). Protein also provides 4 calories/g. Fat provide 9 – 10 calories/g depending on the quality. Fiber is a form of a carbohydrate that your body does not absorb. While still providing 4 calories/g, Fiber calories are subtracted from the total calories per serving.
It’s a simple concept, eat or exercise off 3,500 calories and you will lose a pound. If you reduce your daily intake by 500 calories, you will lose one pound in a week. If you keep your calorie intake the same and exercise twice a week burning 1,750 calories each time, you are going to lose one pound. If you do both, you will lose two pounds a week.
The main complaint of the fad diets is that you lose weight and gain it all back after you finish the diet. Your body is like a highly complex machine that will ensure its’ existence. If you deprive it of any micro-nutrient, your brain will send your body signals to seek it out what’s missing like the Terminator.
